Preparations for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu are moving into high gear as government officials focus heavily on public health management. A cabinet minister recently conducted a comprehensive review meeting with health authorities to evaluate the medical readiness and safety measures planned for the major religious event. The discussion centered on ensuring that proper healthcare systems are placed strategically across all key location points along the riverbanks to handle pilgrim turnout effectively.
During the strategic briefing, health department officials submitted a broad proposal outlining medical facilities for a total of 525 designated bathing ghats. The proposed network will cover several key districts, namely East Godavari, West Godavari, Dr B.R. Ambedkar, Eluru, Kakinada, and Polavaram. This widespread arrangement aims to ensure accessible health supervision and support services across all these participating administrative zones.
The newly planned infrastructure marks a massive scale-up in public health logistical planning compared to earlier events. During the Pushkaralu organized in 2015, authorities had set up health management systems across 225 bathing ghats. By more than doubling the total count of managed bathing spots for the next edition, the health administration aims to provide much wider operational coverage across the designated districts.
Following the detailed review led by the minister, health agencies will coordinate across the six mentioned districts to execute these medical setups. The plan reflects a significant enhancement in official healthcare logistics for the Godavari Pushkaralu compared to previous years.
