Major Interstate Heroin Racket Dismantled by Delhi Police; Four Arrested

In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics, law enforcement officers from the national capital have dismantled an active interstate drug manufacturing and distribution racket. Authorities detained four individuals and seized over seven kilograms of refined heroin, which carries an international street value of approximately Rs 50 crore. The extensive anti-drug drive was executed by the Rohini district Special Staff team under the guidance of senior officers.

The operation commenced on September 16, 2026, when officers intercepted a vehicle in Sector 32, Begumpur, following a tip-off. The driver, identified as Laxman Hooda, was apprehended with 300 grams of the contraband alongside Rs 3 lakh in cash. Further questioning led investigators to his supplier, Anil alias Bhola, who was caught in Sonipat the next day with an additional 501 grams of heroin stored inside his SUV.

Tracing the origin of the illicit substances, the police conducted a raid on October 4 at a hidden manufacturing facility in Lucknow's Jankipuram locality. At the site, officers captured an individual named Bablu and confiscated 6.275 kilograms of newly processed heroin, together with chemical precursors like sodium and acetic anhydride, along with various processing equipment.

Information provided by Bablu enabled team members to track down the unit's owner, Ruksar Ali alias Raju. Following a pursuit covering roughly 120 kilometers, officers successfully detained him in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Legal proceedings under the NDPS Act are ongoing as investigators continue to examine the full reach of the syndicate.
