Ahead of the upcoming legislative winter session, Legislative Assembly Speaker Narwekar has issued instructions to formulate a comprehensive water conservation strategy prior to the start of the proceedings. This decision comes as part of the broader administrative planning required to manage the temporary shift of the state functional capital during this high-profile legislative event.
The movement associated with the winter session is substantial, as an estimated 20,000 politicians and government officials will be traveling to the city. This temporary relocation of a large number of netas and babus is expected to put considerable pressure on local civic resources, particularly the municipal water distribution system that serves the regional population.
In light of these logistical challenges, Speaker Narwekar has publicly pledged that the large influx of visiting dignitaries and civil servants will not translate into extra water cuts for the resident community. He emphasized that the civic authorities must balance the heightened demand created by the government session while safeguarding the standard water supply of the general public.
By requiring a detailed water conservation plan before the official session kicks off, the Speaker intends to prevent any resource management crises during the assembly. The strategy is expected to outline efficient usage measures, ensuring that the government can carry out its official duties smoothly without causing inconvenience to local citizens.
